I was 10 years old when I met Danny Kyle. That was in 1971. He stayed with the McCalmans in our house for a week, during the Folkfestival which my parent had organized. My family is always been active in the folk music and in 1971 they organized with the org.: “Youth and Music” a folkfestival, held in the “Bunker”, the faculty of the technical university in Eindhoven. Later in the ‘80s they run a Folk Club “Folkus” and organized 4 Festivals more. Since ten years I am active in the organisation of Folkwoods (folkfestival Eindhoven) and my dad is still play folkmusic! Anyway, as I said I was 10 and my brother 8 years old. I remember a cold december morning, that all the left shoes where hurled away in the gardens of the neighbours and I speak about 4, 5 gardens further up. Thanks mister Kyle, mister Poodle, "like me and my brother called him"! We just lived in a new district a semi-snobbish area. Concerning the neighbours, we had a extremely hippy content, what of course triggered, Danny! So far I know the next day some people had to go to the festival with one shoe. My dad found some old left ones in the stairs cupboard. Forget the new combination of shoes or sizes, so long they had no high heels and protected you from the weather, they were satisfied. Danny Kyle was always clearly present, enormously funny and full of jokes. Danny Kyle was very specially, he was very good for/with children. The trick with the floppy pen and the disappearing coin in his sleeve, we demand him to show us this over and over again which he did, without losing patience. I warm and happy memory!
